SIC to keep Papa Stour school mothballed
It comes as Lerwick’s two primary schools are set to fall under the Shetland-wide teacher staffing levels calculation from August next year
A decision is expected to be taken on the possible mothballing of Skeld Primary School later this month
An online petition has also been created in a bid to halt the possible mothballing of the school
A public meeting has been organised by westside councillors at the Skeld Hall on Friday
There is also a ‘good news story’ at the Sandwick school when it comes to staffing numbers
Education Scotland has also published a letter recognising progress at Sandwick Junior High School
Committee chairman Davie Sandison said ‘we should be guided by the communities’ point of view at all times’
The UHI Shetland Lerwick and Scalloway campuses will also be closed to students
