Malakoff currently has employment opportunities for persons looking to retrain to obtain a WELDER/FABRICATOR position.

 

Malakoff’s training programme will take candidates with relevant previous experience and will provide instruction and training for candidates to develop the required skills to become a welder/fabricator. The training will take place in Shetland and will include industry standard trade qualifications. An excellent wage package will be provided during the training programme.

Candidates should already possess relevant prior experience such as a trade/modern apprenticeship in a technical subject or relevant industrial experience. Other essential criteria are as follows:

  • Will display a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to get the job done.
  • Will be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Will have a full driving licence.

The position will be based in our Lerwick facilities but travel throughout Shetland will also be required. The position will be based on our standard ‘on shift’ terms with a 2 week on, 2 week off, shift rota.
