We are currently recruiting for a Technician to join our Freshwater team based Girlsta Hatchery, Shetland.
THE ROLE
The Technician role is crucial to our success, ensuring the best management of our superior quality Scottish salmon by monitoring fish health, welfare and protection measures whilst maintaining the operational efficiency and safety standards.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You should have at least 1-year practical experience in fish husbandry or equivalent role with a good knowledge of fish welfare and water chemistry. You must also be able to complete tasks in a professional manner adherent to strict health and safety requirements and practice good housekeeping throughout all activities.
Key requirements are a willingness to learn, good communication skills as well as collaborating as part of our close-knit team where high standards of fish welfare is at the heart of our goals.
We operate a shift system with on-call support to ensure continuity of service for the Hatchery by providing critical coverage outside our normal working hours.
