Site Manager – Permanent Role – Lerwick/SVT

Lerwick Engineering and Fabrication have a Site Manager vacancy to join us at our Greenhead base in Lerwick. The role will be to work within a dynamic team across a range of industry sectors.

We offer a complete 24/7 – 365 days a year service to the Oil & Gas, Decommissioning, Marine, Renewable, Utility and many other industries. We have a prime quayside location where our facilities include workshops and storage areas totalling 14,607m2. This includes one of the largest fabrication workshops and also a purpose-built blast and coating facility. This enables us to always guarantee the highest quality of work.

 

Site Manager – Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients and Contract Managers: attend meetings, establish work content, review contract commitments, and consider programme requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, statutory safety legislation, and best practice guidelines.
  • Maintain safe and suitable site conditions for all personnel.
  • Conduct inductions for subcontractors and complete required documentation.
  • Manage subcontractors for quality, performance, and safety
  • Monitor on-site activities with daily or regular site visits.
  • Conduct Health & Safety audits, Toolbox Talks, and Plant Inspections.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Maintain effective, productive, and professional relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Address issues that could hinder the successful award of contracts or project delivery.

 

Site Manager – The Candidate

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the industry.
  • Must be able to read, understand and work to fabrication drawings and inspect & check fabrication work.
  • Have proven leadership and an ability to drive & motivate staff.
  • Build strong working relationships within the organisation.
  • Have a strong ability to organise the workshop and site teams.
  • Must have a full driving licence.
