Salary: £27,441 – £29,207 per year plus distant islands allowance (pro rata)
Contract Type: Permanent, Temporary
Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 15 hours per week

 

UHI Shetland has a vacancy for a 6-month fixed term, part-time Purchase Ledger Finance Assistant working as part of a small team at our Scalloway campus until 31 August 2025. The post is 15 hours per week and there may be scope for permanency. It will ideally comprise mornings, but a degree of flexibility will be considered for the preferred candidate. The successful candidate will have a pleasant and approachable manner, will be tactful, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality and a good team worker.

Applicants must have experience of working in a busy office environment with specific skills including a good understanding of accounting processes and procedures, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. They must hold a Higher level/SVQ3 or equivalent in Maths and English. Knowledge and understanding of VAT and experience of Sage would be advantageous.
