We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Modeller and/or an Environmental Modeller to join our Sustainability and Development team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role(s) of Principal  and/or Environmental Modeller is a vital position within our Sustainability and Development team. Key responsibilities include the development of hydrodynamic and associated models to assess the impact from and interaction between our marine farms, to inform consenting processes and management decisions. With day-to-day responsibilities in performing and overseeing hydrodynamic modelling, impact assessment modelling, data processing and analysis and internal/external engagement, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team and play a critical role in the provision of environmental models and risk assessments within agreed timescales.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate(s) will have:

  • Experience of application of hydrodynamic models and their outputs (ideally in an aquaculture or marine context
  • Familiarity with programming in modern scripting languages
  • Experience of working with large and complex datasets
  • A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Master’s degree)
  • Experience of regulatory and stakeholder liaison (desirable)
  • Experience of the regulatory framework governing aquaculture development and associated activities (desirable)
