A full-time vacancy has arisen in our net store at Holmsgarth, Lerwick for a net–mender/maker.
The work involves the manufacture of new white fish trawls and seine nets, and the repair of damaged fishing gear along with other duties.
Applicants should have relevant experience suitable for the job, but also be willing to learn new techniques and methods to enable efficient and robust net construction/repair. A clean driving licence, and a forklift licence would be beneficial.
Some heavy lifting will be required as part of the job.
Some of the work may be undertaken outside normal working hours, therefore some overtime working may be required.
