We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team within our Freshwater Recirculation Hatchery located in Girlsta, Shetland.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Responsible for the full service, maintenance and repair of equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, valves & fish handling machinery, the Multi Skilled Engineer will provide vital support to the Hatchery whilst ensuring health and safety compliance and safe systems of work are always in place.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with fault finding and diagnostics of electro-mechanical equipment. We expect the successful applicant to be highly motivated with a positive ‘hands on’ attitude. They must also ensure that all tasks are completed in a professional manner adherent to strict health and safety requirements and practice good housekeeping throughout all activities.

Ideally the candidate will hold SVQ3 or equivalent in Mechanical and Electrical disciplines and completed a recognised apprenticeship. Candidate with only one discipline will be considered if they are willing to retrain.
