DFDS Shetland is recruiting full-time HGV Drivers to join our team based in Lerwick.

 

About the Role

The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting chilled and ambient goods to our customers, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of cargo. This role requires a strong dedication to safety, attention to detail, and excellent driving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to road transport regulations
  • Minimise the risk of accidents
  • Conduct daily vehicle and trailer checks
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Assist with unloading at stores
  • Perform manual handling tasks
  • Accurately record all activities in line with legislation and company requirements

Overtime may be available, with weekend work scheduled on a rota basis.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a valid UK HGV driving licence, along with an up-to-date Driver CPC. A strong understanding of road safety and transport legislation is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude to ensure smooth operations and maintain high service standards.
