A permanent, full-time position has arisen for a Finance Officer at the Authority’s main office at Albert Building.

Main duties of the post include assisting the Chief Finance Officer in maintaining the Authority’s financial systems, including assistance with the preparation of quarterly management accounts, annual accounts and budgets.

The jobholder will also support the Finance Assistants with the routine financial requirements of the Authority’s operations, maintain the Authority’s purchase, sales and nominal ledgers and process payroll using Sage Line 50 Accounts and Payroll applications.

The postholder will prepare and ensure the submission of returns to HM Revenue & Customs, including VAT and Construction Industry Scheme Returns.

Applicants should hold a relevant accountancy qualification with AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) as a minimum.

Applicants should also be self-motivated and possess good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to prioritise their workload. A pleasant and courteous manner is essential.

Hours of work are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Applicants must be capable of passing a pre-employment medical.
