POSITION: Finance Manager
LOCATION: Hybrid / Aberdeen / Shetland

 

POSITION SUMMARY

A new position in a rapidly growing Engineering and Fabrication company with a wide range of customers in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Energy Transition and Maritime.

A seasoned and ambitious professional is required to build upon advances already made to the Finance and Reporting function to deliver timely, accurate and relevant information to the management and operations teams.

The role covers both Management Reporting and Financial Reporting as well as providing leadership to the existing Finance Team.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for preparation and completion of monthly management accounts
  • Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting records
  • Reconciliation between Financial Accounting (Xero) and Business Management System (simPRO)
  • Responsible for implementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of financial controls
  • Preparing the group year end financial statements and associated disclosures
  • Support the VAT / Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisors
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Approval and ownership of balance sheet recs including development of overall process
  • Assisting with R&D Tax credit submission
  • Responsible for external audit including tracking and distribution of requests and providing information where appropriate
  • Develop Project Financial Reporting for major projects
  • Manage the Customer invoicing and collection process
  • Manage the coding of Supplier invoices and ensuring that costs are properly allocated
  • Dealing with Vendors and managing payment expectations
  • Preparation of month end WIP
  • Preparation month-end journal entries
  • Assist on report yearly tax for Company income tax return with Tax consultant on data required
  • Monitor daily cash position and prepare weekly Cash-flow forecasts
  • Ad hoc analysis and reports
  • Assist with Payroll and Human Resources functions
  • Manage relationships and customer and supplier accounting contacts
  • Accurately performed daily cash functions, including A/P and A/R tracking, payroll transactions, expense management and various reconciliations
  • Assist Commercial Director for Budget review and preparation

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Previous experience of working in Engineering, Fabrication or Contracting company
  • Proven track record in building financial processes and procedures in a growing company
  • Proven track record of leading a Finance Team in a growing company
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or can demonstrate that Qualified By Experience up to and including Financial Statutory Reporting
  • Independent with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
  • Ability to evaluate solutions in terms of business, financial and client impacts.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Advanced knowledge in Accounting Software – specifically XERO or similar
  • Knowledgeable in Business Management Systems – specifically simPRO or similar

 

Salary Expectation £50,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
