Finance Assistant (Career Graded) – Part Time (25 hours per week) – Permanent Position
Salary on a scale PA13-16 (Grade 5) £32,782 – £36,149 (including island allowance) pro rata. In addition to the salary and allowances the Association operates a contributory occupational pension scheme.
We have an exciting opportunity for a person with experience of working in a financial environment, a good knowledge of computer-based finance systems and Microsoft Excel, who either has, or is keen to undertake training to AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3.
Based in Lerwick you will assist the Director of Finance in maintaining the financial records of the Association. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of purchase ledger processing. You will also assist in the maintenance and production of financial information, reports, and returns, as required, ensuring compliance with Association and Regulatory deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential for the role.
Duties will include purchase ledger processing, liaison with suppliers, reconciliations, petty cash and credit card administration, contributing to the production of financial reports and regulatory returns.
The successful applicant will be a great team member, self-reliant, and be able to work well under pressure and have experience of prioritising their workload to meet deadlines. You should have Minimum of 4 National 5’s (Standard Grades) and good numerical and Excel skills.
