ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team as a MODERN APPRENTICE in BUSINESS & ADMINISTRATION within our busy office at Sella Ness. The main function of this role is to support the running of an organised and efficient office, working closely alongside the rest of the office team to achieve this.

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with mail in and emails;
  • Answering phone calls and passing on messages;
  • Reception duties (including greeting and looking after visitors);
  • Organising files and records (electronic and paper based);
  • Arranging meetings and events;
  • Stationery stock control;
  • Recording data in spreadsheets;
  • Typing up letters and reports;
  • Sales and purchase ledger invoicing.

 

ABOUT YOU

This role would particularly suit you if you are interested in an opportunity to gain a recognised qualification while gaining valuable real-life experience in an office environment.
You must have excellent communication and organisation skills as you will liaise directly with customers, suppliers and colleagues on a daily basis.
You must also have excellent skills in typing and attention to detail.
You should have a good range of National 4/5 qualifications, preferably including English, Maths, Administration and IT or Business.

 

ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP

There are two starting levels available (Level 2 or Level 3) – the assessor at UHI Shetland decides which level of course is most suitable. The apprenticeship scheme can last between 1 to 2 years for each level. There is no college attendance required as you will be assessed through an E-portfolio of evidence and workplace assessments.
