Fixed-term post till March 2025

This fixed-term post is funded by the Delivering Equally Safe (DES) fund to support the Shetland Violence Against Women, Children and Young People (VAWCYP) Partnership — ongoing funding for this post is in progress.

Through the Chair(s) of the VAWCYP partnership, the Administration Lead is responsible for delivering and recording the partnership’s work and providing clerical and administrative support to the Partnership’s work and activities. The role will involve delivering training and raising awareness on the partnership’s behalf.

We seek a woman whose feminist values align with specialist services delivering frontline trauma recovery services for women and children. As a self-starter, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously and build your own work schedule, fostering your creativity, flexibility, and organisational skills. You will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated domestic abuse team, with the potential for growth and development in your role. Previous relevant experience within local government and women’s sector, report writing, and project management experience would be essential.

You must be highly organised and proactive and work using a gendered analysis of domestic abuse. It is also essential that you drive and have a clean driving licence.

The successful candidate will:

  • Understand domestic abuse and its surrounding issues using a gendered definition and analysis.
  • Have qualification(s) in relevant areas (e.g. administration, social work, psychology, social sciences, gender studies or other related fields) or working towards this.

The post is 16 hours a week, and the successful candidate must work flexible hours that meet the partnership’s needs. The salary for this post is £30,922 to £33,971 pro rata and will include a Distant Islands Allowance.

Women only need apply under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.

To receive details of the post and how to apply, or for an informal discussion about the position, please telephone 01595 692070 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday or e-mail office@shetlandwa.org

The closing date for applications is Thursday, 12th September, and we are looking to interview candidates on Monday, 23rd September.
