A SHETLAND youth has been remanded in custody after appearing in private in Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday morning following Tuesday’s incident when firearms officers were sent to the islands from the Scottish mainland.
Sixteen year old Samuel Arthur Septimus Barlow has been charged with two counts of theft, three counts of assault, one of abusive and threatening behaviour and one of malicious damage.
Barlow made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.
He is expected to reappear in court next week.
