Letters / Darling’s behaviour exemplary
It’s probably a bad idea for a person to wish his or her time away – but personally, I can’t wait for the coming week to pass.
Why is that? So that we can all get some (probably only brief) respite from the threats and taunts of the arrogant and strident (and mendacious) bullies who are doing their best at the moment to dismember and cripple the United Kingdom.
As far as I can see, the only protagonist in this entire shoddy display of what politicians should not be has been Alastair Darling – whose behaviour and deportment in the face of extreme provocation has generally been exemplary. To my great surprise, he’s the only member of that entire shower I would actually vote for – except that he’s still a Labour politician.
I wish Scotland (and Shetland) the best of good fortune at the polls in a week’s time – because if people are stupid enough to vote a set of pie-in-the-sky thugs into power on Thursday 18 September, they are going to need it.
