Letters / Neither for nor against

I’m neither for nor against the project, and can see the good and bad in it.

My biggest gripe is mainly with Sustainable Shetland in that it attempts to portray its campaign as ‘Shetland’s Views’.

Which is isn’t.

In regards to any money spent by the charitable trust, surely it’s prudent to be part of any planning and development of potentially one of the biggest projects to go ahead in Shetland.

If the wind farm is built, and the SCT wasn’t a partner, then that would be a bigger travesty than the windmills not going up at all.

As Craig Johnson mentioned in a previous letter, these projects can take years to come to fruition. And at some stage, when it is more viable to go ahead, and ultimately does, the SCT should be praised for ensuring Shetland gets its fair share of revenue generated.
