News / Trial date set for assault charges
A TRIAL date has been set for later this month for a young Mossbank man accused of two counts of assault.
Appearing before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 year old Ryan George Williamson, of Sandside, Mossbank, pled not guilty to charges of assaulting two men to their injury by kicking them on their heads at an address in the village on 20 May this year.
He is alleged to have carried out the two assaults together with another man, 19 year old Trevor Couper, who appeared from custody before the court.
Couper, with an address of Polmont young offenders’ institution, is charged with four counts of assault on 10 March and 20 May, two counts of behaving in a threatening manner and also failing to comply with bail conditions on two occasions.
The cases against Couper were continued without plea until 13 August, while Williamson’s trial will take place on 23 August.
