News / Fog delays exam results
SOME PUPILS in Shetland anxiously awaiting the arrival of their exam results will have to wait a little bit longer.
Almost 700 large envelopes containing the results only arrived in Shetland on board the NorthLink ferry Hjaltland after thick fog grounded the mail delivery by air.
A spokesman for the Lerwick sorting office said the results had arrived late, but local postmen and women would ensure that the majority of pupils across the isles would receive their results at some stage on Thursday.
He added that only a few pupils living in places within the ZE2 delivery area might have to wait until Friday.
