News / Learn more about employment programme
SHETLAND Islands Council and Shetland College are looking for young folk with learning disabilities or autism to get involved in a project which aims to move them into employment.
Project SEARCH teaches students employability skills “onsite in a real working environment”.
It enables six to eight young people a year to receive support to undertake work placements across a range of job areas, all based within the council.
A drop-in session will be held tonight (29 August) at the Islesburgh Community Centre in Lerwick between 5pm and 7pm for people to find out more.
People are reminded that applications for the programme have to be in by 7 September.
