Letters / Viking plunder
Tomorrow (Thursday) there is to be brazen attempt by private company Viking Energy Limited headed by a local councillor to plunder a further £6m from community funds just before the forthcoming local elections.
There is no guarantee that the Scottish government will approve the company’s planning application given recent revelations about the wind power industry.
This company has already had £3m of Shetland Charitable Trust money. If the company is in need of further funding, then it needs to borrow from a bank. That’s how business works.
This decision must be to either throw it out or defer till the new council’s in place.
