News / Police increase patrols
THE local police force will be increasing its presence on the main road between Tingwall and Brae following concerns about speeding and dangerous overtaking manoeuvres.
Police sergeant Chris Hardwick said officers would be patrolling the A970 in marked and unmarked vehicles and also increasing the number of speed checks.
He said police had received an increased number of complaints from local communities about drivers’ behaviour.
“Anyone with information regarding these incidents are asked to contact Police Scotland in Shetland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111 or alternatively attend at Lerwick Police Station,” he said.
