News / Erraid’s fundraiser
SHETLAND’S champion swimmer Erraid Davies is holding a fundraising day on Saturday (26 March) to help with her training fees to prepare for trials for the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro this year.
The 15 year old, who won a bronze medal at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, has a busy training schedule over the next few weeks and months ahead of the September games.
Lerwick’s Morton Lodge on Queen Street will host the fundraiser from 12 noon into the evening.
Afternoon teas with quizzes and raffles will be held until 6pm after which the Lerwick jarl squad will arrive and present a £3,000 cheque for the British Paralympic Association. From 7pm there will be a Golden Oldies disco.
Davies will be at the event all day and all the money raised will go towards her training expenses.
