ARMY cadets from the Shetland Independent Cadet Battery have received their annual awards and promotions following a parade at Fort Charlotte, earlier this week.
The parade was taken by Shetland’s commandant, colonel Mark Boden, who promoted Ruth Burns to cadet sergeant Major, Jordan MacMillan and Iona Middleton to cadet bombardier and Jay McGill, Neve Middleton, Kieran Thomson and Damian Zebrowski to cadet lance bombardier.
Annual awards were presented by Shetland honorary colonel John Taylor QGM, former commandant Jim Nicholson BEM and councillor Allison Duncan.
Ruth Burns received the Best Cadet shield and Neve Middleton the shield for most improved cadet, and Colin Derbyshire, Jay McGill and Damian Zebrowski received trophies for shooting.
