News / Emergency services called out to major incident at Shetland Catch pier
A SEARCH operation has taken place in Lerwick this afternoon (Tuesday) involving the Lerwick lifeboat and coastguard rescue helicopter.
One person was thought to have ended up in the water following a crash involving a jet ski at the Shetland Catch pier.
Two fire appliances from Lerwick and an ambulance were quickly on the scene, along with coastguard rescue teams.
One person is understood to have been taken by ambulance to the Gilbert Bain Hospital.
The coastguard said this was an ongoing incident and that it could not comment any further.
The police have also been contacted for derails.
