PEOPLE will get the chance to buy tickets for the daytime part of the Rising North music festival’s Clickimin event tonight (Friday) – as well as a limited number of evening tickets.

The daytime concert is taking place on Saturday 16 August and is open to all ages.

Tickets will go on sale tonight at 7pm on via the Rising North website, costing £15 for people aged 16 and over, £10 for those aged between 12 and 16 and £5 for under 12s.

Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

There are no limits on how many of these can be purchased at one time.

Like last year there will be music in the main room as well as the bowls hall.

Last week tickets for the evening gigs at the Clickimin on Friday 15 August and Saturday 16 August sold out quickly after going on sale.

However a limited number of duplicate evening tickets bought by customers last week following an issue with booking confirmation have been returned, and these will also go on sale at 7pm tonight.

The evening part is for ages 18+ only.

Who is performing at the Clickimin daytime event?

There are a host of local acts – and one from Orkney – set to perform through the day at the event, from singer songwriters to rock and metal bands.

Isaac Webb Trio will return to the Clickimin at Rising North having brought their original rock ’n’ roll tunes there last year.

Also on the bill will be 8 Ball Jacuzzi, a rising band who largely play covers from a range of rock acts.

Quorum are a relatively new act who will no doubt get the dance floor rocking with Status Quo covers and more.

Also on the line-up are Quantana, one of Shetland’s premier metal bands.

At the other end of the spectrum will be Adam Guest, a singer-songwriter who is known for his dulcet tones and clever songwriting.

The long-established Donald Anderson Band are also on the bill having released their new album No Time For Turning Back last year.

Blues/rock trio Project 22 will also make their Clickimin debut, while Sauerkraut Seth & The Sheds will tap into styles like roots, country and folk.

The final band taking the stage in the afternoon will be Mockingbird, a seven-piece supergroup hailing from Orkney. This band, featuring members of groups like The Chair and Saltfishforty, brings a unique blend of rock music enhanced by keys and fiddle.

The organisers said they were left “overwhelmed” last Friday when evening Clickimin tickets went on sale, with both nights in high demand.

“We have worked with our vendors to understand and resolve the minor issue we had last weekend to ensure we don’t have a repeat,” they said.

“Just to confirm – last week our systems all worked perfectly, but some saw a blocked page instead of the order confirmation page.

“All orders processed went through, hence we have been working with those impacted to refund any duplicate purchases which is now complete to the best of our knowledge.

“That said, we would encourage everyone to check your junk and spam folders – with the heightened risks of cyber security there are increasing cases where genuine emails are flagged as spam.”

Rising North will also be hosting free entry gigs at pubs across Lerwick on the Thursday (14 August) night, with details to be announced soon.

Information is also set to be announced soon regarding late night events at Mareel on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Rising North will also host a final-day event at Mareel on the Sunday (17 August) afternoon.

Updates are also posted on the Rising North Facebook page.
