Transport / Drain repair work to affect bus services
THERE will be changes to some bus services over the coming days to allow essential repair work to take place on a drain at the Viking Bus Station in Lerwick.
Shetland Islands Council said there will adjustments to services 4, 6, 12, 19 and 23.
On Sunday (13 April) Service 4 (Hamnavoe/Scalloway to Lerwick) will not serve the Commercial Road stop, and will divert via King Harald Street, Annsbrae and Harrison Square stops on route to the Viking Bus Station.
On Monday (14 April) to Thursday (17 April):
Service 4 will not call at the Viking Bus Station and will start and end all journeys at the Esplanade stop.
Service 6:
(Lerwick to Sumburgh) – the 0525 and 2108 services will not call at the Viking Bus Station, passengers can use either the Commercial Road stop or the Esplanade bus stop to board these services.
(Lerwick to Sumburgh) – the 1650 service will not serve the Commercial Road stop, instead diverting via King Harald Street, Annsbrae and Harrison Square stops on route to the Viking Bus Station.
(Sumburgh to Lerwick) – the 1600 service due to arrive at the Viking Bus Station 1657 will terminate at the Harrison Square stop at 1656.
Service 12 (Bixter to Lerwick) – the 1629 due to arrive at the Viking Bus Station at 1659 will divert via King Harald Street, Annsbrae and Harrison Square stops with an estimated arrival time at the Viking Bus Station of 1705.
Service 19 (Vidlin to Lerwick) – the 0814 due to arrive at the Viking Bus Station at 0859 will not serve the Viking Bus Station, passengers who wish to alight at the Viking Bus Station can alight at the Commercial Road stop.
Service 23 (Toft to Lerwick) – the 0640 due to arrive at the Viking Bus Station at 0741 will terminate at the Esplanade instead of the Viking Bus Station.
Passengers with mobility issues who require to board vehicles from pavement height or using the ramp are advised to use the Esplanade stop during the period of the works.
