News / Restrictions on hospital visits to remain in place
RESTRICTIONS on visits to the Gilbert Bain Hospital remain in place due to the continued high levels of respiratory illness in Shetland.
NHS Shetland said it will still be “essential visits only” at the hospital for the next few days at least.
Anyone wanting to visit the hospital is asked to contact the relevant ward before doing so, by calling 01595 743000.
Staff may also advise patients and visitors to wear face masks, with handwashing also essential.
People with cold or flu-like symptoms are asked to wait until they are better before visiting loved ones at the hospital.
