Charlotte was born at Norwick in Unst on 23 March 1925 and lived there until she was 15, before moving to Scalloway and onto Lerwick where she has stayed for over 50 years in Haldane Burgess Crescent.

She had three children with first husband Sonny Lyall – Carol, Kenneth and Neil – and remarried to David Jamieson following Sonny’s death in 1973.

Charlotte worked for over 25 years in the canteen at Bells Brae Primary School before retiring at the age of 65 in 1990, and now enjoys knitting, playing cards and spending time with family.

Around thirty family members, including children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, are celebrating with Charlotte this weekend.
