Court / Possession of class A and B drugs leads to fine
A THIRTY year old man from Dunfermline has been fined £400 for being in possession of class A and B drugs when he was stopped by police on Lerwick’s Holmsgarth Road.
Pleading guilty by letter to three charges, Tyler Castledine, had cannabis, cannabis resin and Tapentodol, a pain killer containing opioids that requires a prescription, in his vehicle when police executed an apprehension warrant on 13 July last year.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said the total value of the controlled drugs was below £300.
Lerwick Sheriff Court heard on Thursday that Castledine, of St Margaret’s Well, Dunfermline, was in Shetland at the time working for an agency as a chef.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank allowed Castledine to pay the fine in instalments of £50 per month.
