Emergency services / Fire service called out to offshore ship berthed in Lerwick
THREE appliances were called out to a fire on board an offshore support vessel berthed in Lerwick.
The incident involved the Armada at the Greenhead Base.
Local fire chief Matt Mason said there was a small fire in the galley of the ship which was extinguished. He also praised the response of the ship’s crew.
Two of the ship’s crew were treated on scene by the ambulance service but were released with suspected light smoke inhalation.
Fire control said the call came in at just before 11.30am.
