Transport / ‘High probability’ of freight cancellations over weekend
THERE IS a “high probability” that some of NorthLink’s freight sailings will be cancelled over the weekend.
The ferry operator has warned that the Helliar’s sailing from Aberdeen to Lerwick on Saturday night is likely to be cancelled.
The sailing of the Hildasay from Lerwick on the same night is also currently under review due to the “forecasted adverse weather conditions”.
The Helliar’s sailing on Sunday from Lerwick to Aberdeen is also likely to be cancelled, NorthLink said.
It comes as NorthLink is warning of the likelihood of disruption lasting from Saturday through to Thursday 6 March.
The passenger ferry Hjaltland is also currently out of service, and not expected to run to action until Wednesday at the earliest.
