THE LOCAL alcohol and drug partnership has issued a warning about a type of drug which is believed to be circulating in Shetland.
The partnership said the drug is referred to as “apples” and is “extremely potent and causing adverse reactions in users”.
There are reports of it being circulated and consumed within Orkney, and it is believed to be in Shetland too.
The drug “red apples” is believed to contain opioids.
The Shetland Alcohol and Drug Partnership highlighted how naloxone can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
More information on naloxone can be found on the Shetland Alcohol and Drug Partnership website.
