Transport / Transport disruption as Storm Éowyn takes effect in isles
THE FERRIES to the North Isles are back to their normal timetable after being suspended as Storm Éowyn reached Shetland’s shores.
Meanwhile the Mid Yell school has asked parents and carers to take care after a section of its roof became unstable.
It comes after both NorthLink passenger sailings were cancelled on Friday night, along with the freight journeys.
Only one bus service has been affected as of 11.15am – the 24V integrated service to the North Isles is operating to the Saturday timetable.
The service will start at Tesco at 1.55pm and will leave the Viking Bus Station at 2.10pm.
ZetTrans also warned that “disruption is likely” to bus services this afternoon as wind speeds increase.
No passenger flights have left or arrived at Sumburgh Airport today either.
An amber weather warning is in place from 1pm today until 6am on Saturday morning.
