Transport / Friday’s boats now cancelled, NorthLink announces
BOTH of tonight’s (Friday) NorthLink sailings to and from Shetland have now been cancelled.
The ferry operator had previously said both the Hrossey and Hjaltland would leave early, with the northbound sailing due to leave Aberdeen at 1pm this afternoon.
But in an early morning announcement, the ferry operator said it had taken the decision to now cancel both sailings.
Saturday’s sailings are also both likely to be subject to delays, NorthLink said, due to the adverse weather.
Today’s freight sailings of the Helliar and Hildasay are also both cancelled.
It comes as Storm Éowyn causes travel disruption right across the country, with an amber weather warning in place for Shetland from 1pm today until 6am on Saturday.
