Community / Charity praised after £15k donation for specialist mattresses
A SHETLAND charity has donated £15,000 to buy 15 specialist mattresses for NHS Shetland patients.
Cancer Shetland, which was set up more than 25 years ago, provided the mattresses to the health board recently, with NHS Shetland saying they were “already making a big difference” to patients.
The local health board gave a “big thank you” to Cancer Shetland, which has now donated more than £100,000 to them in its lifetime to support those living with cancer and other illnesses.
Chief nurse of community and mental health Kim Anderson said they were “so grateful to the charity for its continued support over the years”.
