Weather / Persistent snowfall disrupts travel and closes shopping centre
WITH SNOW falling since earlier this morning (Tuesday), transport links across Shetland are affected.
Most public bus services are currently suspended but some are likely to operate at 5pm

Roads conditions across the isles have been reported as difficult with several vehicles reported to have come off the road. There is a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow in place until midnight.
The ferry service across Yell Sound is reduced to a single vessel service due to the weather conditions.
And at Sumburgh Airport the morning flight from Edinburgh was diverted because of weather conditions at Sumburgh while the midday Inverness flight was cancelled for the same reason.
Meanwhile, Toll Clock Shopping Centre has announced it will close at 2pm due to the weather conditions and to allow customers and staff to return home safely. The Mini Market and toy shop will also close at 2pm.
The Dowry restaurant in Lerwick had announced last night (Monday) it would remain closed today due to the weather forecast.
Lerwick Health Centre closed at 3pm, and is due to reopen on Friday 3 January.
Anyone needing access to medical care is asked to call the appointments line for the duty doctor, or to contact NHS 24 on 111 after 5.30pm.
