Election / Two to contest council by-election
TWO CANDIDATES will vie for the vacant Shetland North council seat after the deadline for nominations closed this afternoon (Tuesday).
Natasha Cornick and Andrew Hall will stand for election, both of the whom had previously publicly declared their intention to stand.
Both will be on the ballot paper as independent candidates.
The by-election is taking place following the resignation of Tom Morton at the end of October.
Voting will take place between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 23 January, with the result due the next day.
The winner will join Emma Macdonald and Andrea Manson in representing the Shetland North ward.
