Police / Man arrested after large drugs haul
A FORTY four year old man is due to appear at court on Monday after being arrested following a seizure of class A drugs at Lerwick’s Holmsgarth ferry terminal on Friday morning.
Police said on Sunday that heroin and cocaine worth more than £125,000 was seized. Officers recovered 1.3 kilos of heroin and 512 grams of cocaine after stopping a van at the terminal.
Police said the heroin had an estimated street value of £65,000 while the cocaine was estimated to be worth £64,000 when sold on the street.
Detective inspector Calum Reid said: “This recovery highlights our continued commitment in Shetland to disrupting drug activity and supply within our communities.

The custody case will be heard at Inverness Sheriff Court via video link from Lerwick.
