THE LERWICK fire station is advising people not to be alarmed if they see cosmetic smoke or a “lot of commotion” in the Sandveien area of town tonight (Tuesday).

This is because crews will be conducting a training exercise within a property in Sandveien tonight from 7pm to 9.30pm.

The Lerwick station crew said on social media: “We try to train our crews in the most realistic environments possible.

“As always please approach us to ask any questions, enquire about recruitment or to ask advice about home fire safety.”
