Business / Island Larder scoops judges’ prize at top food and drink awards
ISLAND Larder has lifted the judges award at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards in Inverness.
The Lerwick-based company was commended for its dedication to “quality, sustainability, and community engagement” by the panel, which includes Shetland Food and Drink’s Marian Armitage.
Shetland was well represented at the ceremony in the Kingsmills Hotel on Friday night.
Island Larder had been nominated for the best marketing and primary producer awards, while its employee Paige Dennis was up for the young ambassador of the year prize.
Lerwick’s No. 88 restaurant was in the running for best restaurant, with Sound Butchers in for the independent retailer of the year prize.
They said it had been “an incredible honour” to be nominated for the award, and congratulated all the winners on the night.
