Entertainment / Panto to have sign language interpreted performance for first time
IN WHAT is thought to be a first for Shetland, this year’s pantomime will have a sign language interpreted performance.
The signed performance of Open Door Drama Group’s Babes in the Wood will take place at the Garrison Theatre in Lerwick on Saturday 7 December at 2pm.
The British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted performance is happening in conjunction with Shetland Community Connections.
The drama group said: “We understand that this is a first for theatre in Shetland and we are keen that the deaf community are aware of this BSL interpreted performance.
“To book suitable seats for this performance please email opendoordrama33@gmail.com or text 077 291 73 291 with your booking details as soon as possible and preferably before the tickets are available to the public on 12th November.”
The Babes in the Wood panto will run at the Garrison Theatre from 3 to 14 December.
Tickets will go on sale via the Shetland Arts box office on 12 November.
