SUNDAY night’s NorthLink sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen will leave two hours early due to forecasted high winds.

The Hrossey will now leave Lerwick at 5pm, and could be delayed by up to an hour arriving into Aberdeen on Monday morning too.

The Hjaltland will sail from Aberdeen for Kirkwall and then Lerwick at the usual tine of 5pm.

However, NorthLink said she could be delayed by up to 30 minutes arriving into Kirkwall on Sunday night.

The Sunday afternoon sailing of the Helliar from Lerwick to Aberdeen on Sunday is also under review, with a “high probability of cancellation”.

A yellow weather warning is in place for Shetland from 3am on Sunday until 9am Monday, with Storm Ashley set to bring gales gusting beyond 70mph at times.
