Weather / Transport disruptions likely as Storm Ashley approaches
TRANSPORT operators are warning of travel disruptions for Sunday and Monday morning as the first named storm of the season makes it way north.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and said that Storm Ashley will bring south-easterly winds gusting in excess of 60 mph to the north of Scotland. There is an amber warning in place for the west of Scotland for Sunday.
Serco NorthLink said it expects some disruption to its services over these two days and added it will provide details on how this may impact on its ferry services once forecasts are updated.
Loganair meanwhile is offering people booked on some of its Sunday flights the opportunity to rebook free of charge, as they anticipate disruptions and cancellations to their schedule.
