Entertainment / Heavy metal invasion set to rock Scottish mainland

Ten Tonne Dozer will be part of a heavy metal invasion from Shetland to the Scottish mainland next week.

A HEAVY metal “pagan invasion” is set to hit the Scottish mainland full force next week.

Local bands Ten Tonne Dozer and Trowsholm will hit the road together for the first time, with the bands promising to “pack a mighty punch” at their shows.

The two groups will culminate their mini tour – which will take them from Aberdeen to Stirling – with a Sunday night gig in Kirkwall’s Auld Motorhoose.

Ten Tonne Dozer lead singer Dave Kok said the highlight of the tour would be a “Shetland vs The Deen” metal marathon in Aberdeen’s Krakatoa, which will see the two bands go toe-to-toe with Aberdeen’s Hemp Fandango and Volupta.

His band consists of Jamie Duncan (lead guitar), Jamie Dalziel (rhythm guitar), Barrie Scobie (bass) and Dean Williamson (drums), as well as Kok as the frontman.

Callum Anderson (vocals/guitar), Arthur Poleson (keyboard, midi), Aidan Peterson (drums) and Tom Smith (bass) make up Trowsholm.

The two bands will start their mini “pagan invasion” tour with a gig in Stirling’s No 2 Baker Street on Thursday 10 October.

They will then play Krakatoa in Aberdeen the night after, followed by an afternoon show in HMV Inverness on Saturday 12 October.

A gig at Inverness’ Tooth and Claw then follows that night, with the Auld Motorhoose concert bringing an end to the tour on the Sunday.

Trowsholm will join Ten Tonne Dozer on the “pagan invasion” mini tour.
