MORE than 200 runners will ‘Run the Runway’ at Sumburgh Airport on Saturday to remember Iain Goodlad.

Participants will run the perimeter of all three runways – totalling a distance of around four miles – to raise funds for Mind Your Head.

The event, which will begin at dusk, has been organised in memory of Goodlad by his colleagues at the airport to raise money for the local charity, which provided support to his family and friends following his death earlier this year.

Sumburgh Airport general manager Andrew Farquhar said they were delighted that so many people wanted to take part in the fundraiser.

“Iain was a popular colleague who played sport locally,” he said.

“This seems a very positive tribute to him and to raise money to support the amazing work that Mind Your Head carries out in the local community.”

The event has been organised by the airport team with refreshments for participants and raffle prizes donated by local companies.
