Transport / Bluemull Sound route down to single vessel again
THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service will be covered by a single vessel for a second consecutive day.
Continued mechanical problems with the Geira mean the route will run to a Saturday timetable again. All bookings have been suspended.
Shetland Islands Council apologised for any inconvenience caused.
With the 36-year-old Geira out of the action, the route is being covered by the Fivla as the Bigga has not yet returned to service after being in dry dock.
Yell Sound has also been a single vessel service since Wednesday, and will be today (Friday) too.
On Wednesday the Whalsay service also briefly went down to a single vessel due to mechanical issues with the Hendra.
