Emergency services / House fire in Virkie
FIRE crews attended the scene of a house fire in Virkie on Monday night.
Appliances from Sandwick and Sumburgh Airport were called to the scene at around 9.40pm.
Both crews left the scene soon after 11pm.
Coastguard crews were also called to deal with an injured fisherman on Monday morning.
The coastguard helicopter was tasked with the medical evacuation from a fishing boat roughly 130 miles north-northeast of Sumburgh at 6.20am.
The helicopter landed at the Clickimin landing site at roughly 10.30am, with the patient transferred to Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance.
