ABILITY Shetland has said it is “delighted” after receiving a £1,000 donation from energy giant Ineos.

Staff at the company took part in a Tour de France fundraising challenge over the summer, with the proceeds going towards a charity of each team’s choice.

And Ability Shetland was chosen to benefit by Denise Brannan, the sister of service user Ryan.

Ryan presented the £1,000 cheque to team leader Stephanie Bain, with Ability Shetland thanking Ineos for the “very generous donation”.

The money will go towards equipment to make sports more inclusive in the isles, at the request of Ryan who “particularly enjoys using our adapted bikes”, Bain added.
