SHETLAND’s mixed hockey inter-county team beat Orkney 1-0 at the Brae hockey pitch on Saturday afternoon.

In a closely fought match that could have gone either way it was Gary Sutherland’s goal scored late in the fourth quarter that was enough for Shetland to retain the Joan Nicolson trophy.

An Orkney defender tries in vain as Shetland’s Gary Sutherland (shirt no 9) scores his team’s winning goal late on in the fourth quarter in this afternoon’s mixed hockey inter-county match against Orkney.
